Hi Lance: You are right...it is very inspiring to watch the video...just the design of the Guggenheim is amazing. I need to get myself a video camera and an editing program and get going!!

Hi Lori: LOL, my likeness on your mashed potatoes...that sounds interesting and fun :) When I think of sculpting on mashed potatoes I flash back to a movie that spooked me as a kid, Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Remember that one? I think the video is a tool that does a great job inspiring creative filmmakers (or video makers). I'm glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for your words of support!

Hi Ryhen: Ha ha...chaos and disorder! Yeah, there is plenty of that in our world. One thing I really enjoy about "modern art" is its ability to take more risks. I have visited plenty of modern art exhibits...and some have really left me scratching my head and thinking 'this is art?' But there have been other times when the work blows me away. I'm sure the YouTube/Guggenheim contest will get a similar range in quality of work. I will say that I'm curious to see more.

This is very interesting. I like the idea. There are tons of creative people out there and games like this tend to squeeze more juice out of their minds.

The video says, "Artists should always be challenging the status quo, and that includes museums." Are they really sure they want this to happen? Maybe they are not aware that the world is already in the brink of chaos and disorder. lol

Hi Tim,

Yeah, I second what Lance said. (He always takes the words out of my mouth!). ;)

I felt energized and a boost of creativity after I watched the video. I think I'll go sculpt your likeness in my mashed potatoes now. (LOL)

Thanks, Tim! Another awesome video (and post) to add to your stellar collection here at 360 Degree Self.
:D
