About 360 Degree Self
360 Degree Self is a blog about well-rounded living. What is well-rounded living? To me, it means being influenced by many things – the arts, sciences, spirituality and culture in general…but also about influencing others. I feel that well rounded living is about learning – whether it be from books or the little things we encounter on a daily basis – and applying these lessons to our lives.
Please note that I hope to explore a wide range of topics here including self-improvement, marketing and branding, public speaking/presentations, pop culture, job hunting and creativity. By covering all of this, I’m sure I’m breaking some key rules in becoming a successful blogger. While I have mentioned some topics that might be considered “serious,” I hope to explore all of this with a spirit of fun, introspection and playfulness.
About Me
My name is Tim Piotrowski and I am a student of life and someone with a strong sense of curiosity. Some of my passions include sports (go White Sox!), music, cooking, marketing, cycling and language. Besides the Sox, my favorite teams include the Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers (more on this here). I enjoy a wide range of music, especially classic rock, 70’s R & B and funk, 80’s metal and shred guitar, blues and jazz. I enjoy all things guitar from James Taylor to Eric Clapton to George Lynch. But I enjoy so much more.
I’m also a book lover who grew up reading nearly all of the Stephen King books. My tastes have evolved over the years and I enjoy reading books about the law of attraction, business and marketing, fiction or anything else that captures my attention (which seems like just about everything). Lately, I have enjoyed books by Cormac McCarthy, Khaled Hosseini and J.K. Rowling. I look forward to sharing some of these books and more in future posts.
As for work, I have 15 years of marketing experience in advertising, sponsorship, print production and media relations. I am currently in transition and looking for opportunities in marketing and possibly sales. Like a lot of people, I am interested in social media. Not because it is the cool, new thing. But because it is a great tool in connecting with others.
