The WordPress version of 360 Degree Self turns one today. Exactly one year ago I took the leap and switched to WordPress from the Blogger version. While the switch in blogging platforms was a major change for me and required a lot of technical tinkering, I believe that the biggest change was an improvement in my writing and quality of content – at least that was my intention.
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has spent time here, watched some videos, re-tweeted or commented and participated in various discussions over the past year. I sincerely feel honored that you’ve stopped by and have helped create a small sense of community here. I love hearing from all of you and connecting via this blog or on Twitter. It really makes the world seem smaller and more friendly.
As you may have noticed, I am in the process of tweaking the design here and playing with the colors. It has truly been a do-it-yourself process for me…but thanks to Lori at Jane Be Nimble, my header looks absolutely great! Lori, I still can’t thank you enough for your help in the creation of the header and your support here.
Moving forward, I still plan to write about things that make us well-rounded…but I want to, as Emeril Lagasse says, “kick it up a notch.” I’m working to slowly dismantle the Blogger version of this blog. Because of how I set it up the comments, it has been difficult to monitor and I imagine there are probably some interesting spam comments that I haven’t removed yet. You may also see me re-post a few things that are considered a “best of.” I’m doing this mostly to keep a sort of archive going.
I wanted to leave you with a video that I discovered today. R & B crooner John Legend will soon be releasing a CD with a hip-hop group known as The Roots. You can sample the entire CD on NPR.org or pick it up when it gets released on September 21. While I’m not familiar with the Roots, I was blown away by their cinematic video from earlier this year. I hope you enjoy and have a great weekend!
